Star Trek!

DMZ I am a trekkie
I've seen every episode of every series. Here is a short list of my favorites.
The best Star Trek TV series is DS9. This is because I am a huge fan of huge space battles. See also BattleStar Galactica.
My favorite alien species is Klingon. I am a big fan of house to house warfare which probably came from my love affair with Dune the movie which started early on. Dune is arguably the best sci-fi book ever. Also probably why I like George R. R. Martin so much.
The best Star Trek movie is the Wrath of Khan. It has Cold War overtones, hacking into another ship (always cool), and Spock dies.
I'll give you a post mortem tomorrow upon my triumphant return from the DLP showing at 7p.

The New Star Trek was awesome!! They had a Wrath of Khan moment with the creature that latches on to your brain, time travel and green alien sex!!!
I second that, the new Star Trek is definitely not your daddy's Star Trek. Fast paced, good writing, solid acting, spectacular effects, and an interesting plot. Plus Simon Pegg as Scotty saying "I'm givin' it all she's got Captain!" good stuff. And the guy who played Bones did great too...

My favorite writer http://grrm.livejournal.com/87221.html" REL="nofollow">hated it! I thought the writing wasn't horrible and the sci-fi (Black hole = time travel???) wasn't the best but for a summer action movie it was great fun and seeing this remade was awesome. I hope that they go on to make more.
Self-confessed Trekkie/Trekker/Nerd. Grew up on syndicated TOS with Kirk and Spock. Rebelled against TNG for a few years, but eventually assimilated (resistance is futile). Dabbled in all of the others. This movie is the best Trek product in a long time. Likable characters, solid special effects (thanks, ILM), and a few hot chicks (including the greenie Doof mentioned). Go see it even if you're not a geek.
