Culture Expansion

Check out SanJose.org "The Fun Never Stops!" as we will soon be linked to this site. I found it very entertaining, especially the Top 10 Reasons to Visit SJ. #4 was my favorite: SJ is a cultural meccca. Very happy to hear this.

Please comment with your favorite San Jose memories below to give them a warm welcome.

On a seperate note please "suggest to friends" on the left hand side of the new Facebook page.

The best moment for me was my graduation from San Jose State. I was surrounded by family and friends. I walked in the door and my best friend handed me a glass of Jameson's and said "Congratulations!"

We started at the Santa Clara Golf and Tennis Club for the Financial Management Association's yearly graduation. The President of the FMA and my good friend Tiffanie Craig was a speaker. My mother was so impressed. My friends and family got to meet my favorite teachers and I even got my cap swiped! Tiffanie provided a new one pronto! She is ever so resourceful.

After the dinner and speeches the real party could begin at the Hedley Room at the Hotel De Anza. We took over the patio. One of my favorite things to to in San Jose.

I had a whirlwind day. I even changed a flat tire in my suit!

I would have to say my favorite San Jose memory is of game 3 of the first round of the 1998 Stanley Cup Playoffs against Dallas. Dallas had a two game lead after taking both at home, but it was brought back to San Jose for Eddie Belfours first playoff game in the Shark Tank after dissing the Sharks.

The Sharks jumped ahead early, and had no intention of looking back in that game. The whole crowd was energized, chanting Belfour's name as derisively as possible. By the end of the third period, it all finally got to him. He snapped and starting taking swings at the Sharks players, earning himself an ejection (and should've earned a suspension).

I was eighteen at the time, and it was one of the first times I remember just going out in downtown afterwards, as we went and got coffee and cheered the great game.
